Purpose/ Summary:

The Sr. Software Development Manager is responsible for coordination, implementation, deployment and operation of software systems to support business needs. The Sr. Software Development Manager will be responsible for the execution of all software development related activities. They will work with the Vice President of IT to facilitate the strategic direction of the Company’s software development and related initiatives. They will hire, plan, review, direct and coordinate activities of a team of Developers and Quality Assurance Engineers with cross functional responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-     Oversees the day to day operations of the Software Development team

-     Manages the installation of software systems and technologies solutions

-     Ensures that the software development team has appropriate product and technical specifications, direction and resources to deliver products effectively

-     Establishes realistic estimates for project timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet those deadlines

-     Help developers resolve both technical and non-technical issues and problems as they arise

-     Coordinates release and sprint planning

-     Conducts daily scrum meetings and manage agile development processes

-     Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:

-     A minimum of a BS; with 5+ years of software development experience

-     At least 2 years’ experience supervising software developers

-     Experience with relational databases and MySQL

-     Experience with development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum or Waterfall

-     Experience with project management software such as JIRA and Confluence

-     Strong project driven mentality with an attitude towards delivering fast

-     Proven leadership ability; team management, and interpersonal skills

-     Excellent written and oral communication skills
