The AC Accumulator, located between the evaporator and the compressor, removes any moisture or oil or debris present in the refrigerant. The compressor being a high-pressure component of the AC system, cannot handle low-pressure materials like liquid refrigerant. The accumulator prevents such materials that can make the compressor malfunction from entering it. The video below demonstrates the installation process of an AC Accumulator.

Now, we're ready to install the accumulator. When all the fittings are snug, then fasten the bolts for the mounting brackets. Next, we're gonna tighten up the hose fittings to the accumulator. Once again, make sure you're using the backup wrench. Next, we're gonna install the switch on the accumulator. This switch, you don't need to use a wrench, just hand tighten it. Put the electrical connector back on.
